Ben Gibbard Possesses Zooey Deschanel's Heart

Apparently, after much confusion, Zooey Deschanel is in fact engaged to Ben Gibbard from Death Cab for Cutie.

I had no clue that they were dating for the past year, but I think they make a hella cute couple. They'll definitely make great music together, and if it gets there, one awesomely adorable baby with a cow-lick in tow.

Congratulations to the second coolest indie rock couple! (Of course Win & Regine take the cake.)

My Favourite Albums of 2008

1. TV on the Radio- Dear Science
I know this album has been on many lists this year, but I truly believe this was the best album of 2008. It really hit the spot for me after the slump of albums that were coming out.
Gems: Dancing Choose, Family Tree, Love Dog

2. MGMT- Oracular Spectacular
I totally forgot that this album was released in 2008, as I have heard about them since last year. MGMT is a big ball of psychedelia, and fun. If you're into the whole "strangely-endearing-slightly-esoteric-I think I'm high" hipster indie music, then this is REALLY for you.
Gems: Electric Feel, Weekend Wars, Time to Pretend

3. Vampire Weekend- Vampire Weekend
Personally, Vampire Weekend achieved the impossible; they make me not want to beat up preppy school kids....or at least ones that make good music. Their songs are catchy, and very upbeat. If you're planning on a beachy vacation, play some volleyball with "A-Punk" in the background, and you're set.
Gems: Oxford Comma, A-Punk, Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa

4. The Walkmen- You & Me
You & Me has an echoey ambience that really sets the mood. The melodies are breezy, making it feel almost effortless as you slowly drift in and out of consciousness. Make sure not to fall asleep though. This album deserves attention, if you want to enjoy it to its fullest.
Gems: Seven Years of Holidays (for Stretch, Canadian Girl, In the New Year

5. Lykke Li- Youth Novels
Lykke Li, by far, has the most beautiful voice out there. It's gental, yet strained, and finds away to sound absolutely perrrrrfect live. Her songs are catchy pop songs, but there is a definite edge to her live shows; things aren't as they seem.
Gems: Breaking it Up, I'm Good, I'm Gone, and Dance Dance Dance

...And that's how the cookie crumbles.

Mats says Goodbye to T.O., says Hello to Rainy, Humid, Foggy Vancouver

Oh gag me. I hate to have to write about this, but it's the truth now. Mats Sundin is leaving Toronto for the wonderfully cloudy Vancouver.

I was a huge supporter of Sundin staying in T.O., so this news breaks my heart. I always believed that he wanted to win the Stanley Cup in Toronto, but his time has come to look for a realistic opportunity. Our team is currently in the pits, so I suppose I don't blame him.

I personally won't "boo" him when he comes back in February. I think the only person who deserves our "boo-ing" is Vince Carter. Vince gave up on our team and began to act like a sissy. Mats on the other hand, fought every chance he had.

I'll miss you, Mats.

Winter Break = More Blog Posts

Now that my Winter Break has officially started (with a snow storm), I am determined to post more frequently.

I don't think I'm going to post much today, mostly because I'm deathly tired, and the snow is making me lazy.

I'll stop neglecting my blog now. Sorry blog.
